For more than 50 years Willett has been training people for the metalforming Industry. This has evolved into
a nationally acclaimed Apprenticeship Program that is Maryland state approved. A Willett Apprenticeship
graduate heads most Willett organizational groups.
Each year the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) holds a chapter contest where fourth year
apprentices, from various companies in that chapter, compete against each other. The winner from the local
contest continues on to compete in the national contest. Our apprentices have consistently excelled at the
NTMA Apprentice contest. In the last 17 contests two have taken first, two second, one third and one fourth.
This represents the quality of apprentice as well as the quality of the apprentice program they participate in
at Willett.
